Best Fish Guide 2009-2010

Best Fish Guide 2009-2010

Well sustainable fishing is a challenge these days it would seem.

Please do use this best fish guide to make a good choice for our oceans.

This assessment combines the latest government and published information on  the biology, status and management of fish stocks, habitat damage and ecological damage caused by fishing methods to seabirds, marine mammals, corals, sponges, turtles and other marine life.

For Fish Choices _Ecological Rankings ==> Best Fish Guide 2009-2010 from here click on the word 'rating' to get to see whether you need to avoid a type of  fish (there are many you must avoid!) or if there are concerns about sustainability. Important reading for consumers as well as fishers.

New Zealand fisheries are not as healthy as some claim. If you choose ecologically sustainable seafood you will help improve New Zealand's fishing practices and return our oceans to an abundance and health.

Concentration. book recommended, view in google books

The Power of Concentration

I have recently been recommended this book written in 1918 called The Power of Concentration. Instead of buying an ebook, I have searched google books for this text (the author is Theron Dumont) and there are 46 of the 188 pages of this book here as a tester. Enough to get the motivation...

I think this is a good idea to use google books for this purpose, because it is free. This is basically an old style (1918!) self help book. Seriously a get off your chair old time classic.

Of course not to worry about gender. I mean don't feel excluded but think of the circumstances surrounding this writer. Think she if you read he, and woman when you read man if you are not a man. The ‘he’ in this narrative should stand for ‘he’ and ‘she’:
Man/Woman in a broad inclusive 21st century sense. 1918 and such clear ideas post war! Theron Dumont also good for a wikipedia search, he wrote under 3 pseudonyms, his real name being William but his chosen name so French. He also wrote under an Asian name. Fascinating. :-)

Now I just did that wikipedia search on Theron Dumont. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theron_Q._Dumont.
or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Walker_Atkinson

Gosh sounds very different, certainly prolific, a great writer? well..could be dodgy, sounds a bit racy, has limitations, don't believe in crystals..not a hindu... yet Thermon Dumont's work about CONCENTRATION has impact, interesting insights and practical value.

Copy and paste to address bar to view.

http://books.google.co.nz/books?q=Theron+Dumont&btnG=Search+Books. The first 9 pages of the table of contents are in smaller print.

By following a link on the early wikipedia link above I also realise now that Project Gutenberg has a full copy of this text.
http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext98/prcon10.txt

from here either download ( I prefer in uniform plain text...) or simply read online see link at top of page.

Reminds me a little of Paul Cezanne (1839-1906) Card Players Paintings. The Card Players

Update: As of 6 September my blog is now marked free of the Malware by google. I'm so pleased. The changes I made, plus summitting for the review and it appears the problem is solved. Great work everybody :-).

I've noticed that google have marked my blog as having malware on a google search. I'm not sure which widgets I need to remove, but am working on this problem.
I am working to see what I need to remove to keep my blog free of malware.

I'm using this resource
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/10/malware-we-dont-need-no-stinking.html

So far I have removed the bloglinker.com and also removed my nav bar as I found an i-frame in it. (Searched iframes have width="0" Height="0" in HTML souce code).

Good news is my site "did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites" and "No this site has not hosted malicias software over the past 90 days".
How did this happen? "In some cases, third parties can add malicious (or suspicious) code to legitimate sites which would cause us to show the warning message". Now to inform blogger, clean up any remaining probs, get advise to keep things secure and to apply for a review from the google team.

My apologies.

Deleting facebook posts

Deleting facebook posts

To delete a post on facebook just go to the EXTREME RIGHT CORNER of the post which you need to delete. You'll find a small pencil icon and an option to Edit. You can choose to delete any wall post by using that particular Edit option.

regards,

Helena

Deleting facebook posts

# With the new facebook layout the options to edit are reduced. To delete just go to the extreme right corner of the post and you'll find a small boxed x (...now an icon that says 'delete' that is visible when you mouse over it). This will delete your post. The option to minimise the post or reduce it to one line has disappeared.
The new facebook layout is apparently modified to take in aspects of twitter and myspace. Will take some practise using the new formats.

I have been reading this article about joining networks on facebook and what this does to your 'only friends' privacy settings. This is worth a read to understand how joining a network does affect your privacy. ==>

Scholarly Commons

What is Scholarly Commons?

ScholarlyCommons@AUT provides a platform for the collection, organisation, access, annotation and preservation of the University's research outputs in digital formats.

What we're trying to do is collect together, in one place, the research produced by members of AUT University and make it accessible via the Internet to a world wide audience. This is an example of what is known as an " Institutional Repository".
From the Scholarly Commons website FAQs...

scribd.com

Just been exploring this web site. Very with it. Well worth a look. Great sample books, documents, resumes, articles etc. You can upload your own or download from the vast archive in word, adobe reader etc.
50 million plus readers.

"Scribd is the place where you publish, discover and discuss original writings and documents.... sharing ebooks, creative writing, research papers and even sheet music and recipes on Scribd.com..."

I have summited a short paper to trial the upload. After a month it has had 11 reads!  I have not shared the information to my networks which would be easy to do.... I really recommend this software because of the clarity, ease of upload and the potential to share within facebook and twitter. Those who know me can search for the paper if they wish.
